Replacements

Work Order - Equipment Replacements

When a technician determines that a piece of equipment has failed an inspection and needs to be replaced, he can then fill out a replacement form for the equipment. This form collects all the data that is needed to replace the unit and asked the technician to verify all readings, measurements, and pressures to make sure the Vendors and Service Estimator have all information that is key to getting a replacement piece of equipment. Replacement forms can be for specific equipment components like motors or exchangers or can be for the entire unit itself.

For mobile users’ replacement forms are vital in that they do several things. They verify all the detailed aspects of the equipment including size, numbers, readings and power. They allow the mobile user to define what is needed to replace the equipment while the user is still on site. This can be things like needing a man lift, crane and how many people it is estimated to take. In addition, if something like a crane is needed, the form will ask detailed questions about distances between the equipment and roof edge and building distances to parking lot. These types of questions help eliminate the need for the contractor to send others out later to collect important info needed in preparation for replacing the equipment.

Once the replacement form is completed in the mobile device by the Technician, the system will then notify the Customer that the equipment has been deemed needing replacement and also sends replacement requests to all Vendors that have been identified by the system as selling compatible equipment as a replacement, a notification is also sent to the Contractors Estimator to notify him that the Customer has equipment at a Job Site that needs replacement and he can be expecting replies from the Vendors with quotes for replacing the equipment.

When the Technician is completing the Replacement Form, these values are put into a PDF report document that is generated once the replacement form has been completed. This PDF document is stored in the system and is accessible to the Contractor.
